2006 Quinta do Portal Vintage Port

With extreme kindness, the staff at Vinologia offered a glass of this to me free in May 2009.
This could easily have been one of the 2007s. Extremely dark it had a huge amount of fruit on the nose with, perhaps, a touch of chocolate. In the mouth there was even more fruit with, perhaps, red-currants and black cherries being the most obvious ones. This was followed up with huge tannins, and very little sugar or alcohol. I pleased to try this; I think there are great things in store for this Port.
