1948 Fonseca vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Opened as part of the Wokingham offline of 11 June 2009.

Ullaged to mid shoulder. Deep colour, more red than brown. Slightly farmyardy nose over a lovely clover honey. Very thick texture, lovely and lively in the mouth; full and flavoursome. A darned big port! The aftertaste is a little subdued, but very pleasant. 90/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
