2007 Quinta da Romaneira

Post by DRT »

Tasted as part of DRT's Review of 2007 Cask Samples

Each of the paragraphs below are separate notes taken over a period of a few days:

Beautiful blackcurrant nose. Mid weight, smooth with low acidity and soft tannins. Well balanced but doesn't feel like a big wine.

Same nose as first tasting. Sowing much more acidity now. Tannins still soft. Long finish. Better now.

The nose is scrumptuous. Smooth and thick entry. Still soft and the finish showing some heat.

Ahh - that nose!! Same as yesterday - excellent.

Very thick. Everything together now and nothing wrong. Absolutely delicious.

Lovely soft, ripe fruits on the nose (melon?). Thick texture. Very smooth with a slight bitterness in the mid palate. Big dry tannic finish with dark chocolate.

Lovely thick texture. Good acidity and red fruits. A little heat in the finish, which is very long and dry.
