Re: 1970 Graham's VP
Deepest in colour of the '70 wines on show. Very hot on the nose, slightly cloying in its sweetness with some hot toffee and candy. Very big bodied and with a thick texture. Terrific volume of flavours and a complexity that is really impressive. Still some soft tannins giving a really enjoyable structure. The aftertaste us a little hollow initially, but grows quickly to become big and mouthfilling. Will still improve with more time in the cellar. Currently this is a good wine which will become an even better wine and perhaps deserve a score of 94-95 when it peaks. 93/100. Drunk 28 June 2009.
