1945 Croft vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep colour, crystal clear and glowing in its magnificence. Quite hot on the nose (the room was warmer than would have been ideal) with a touch of Croft orange or tangerine. Lovely thick texture, big bodied and full of massive fruit flavours. A lovely aftertaste; not big but lingering and full of marmalade. Just wonderful port. 99/100. Drunk 29 June 2009.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
