1970 Quinta do Sao Luiz vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Kopke. Dark red in colour, deep but transparent in the centre. Raspberry jam on the nose, with a touch of cinnamon. Soft entry, quite thick. Lively sweet cranberry, generous complexity and an elegant balance between the sweetness and acidity. The aftertaste is a shade hollow, but grows into a dramatic and mouthfilling aftertaste of sweet all spice that lasts a good time. Delicious current drinking. 91/100. Drunk 27 June 2009.
