1970 Dow
Posted: 16:09 Sat 22 Aug 2009
Dow 1970, first of a dozen bought at Bonhams earlier this year. Room-temperature bottle decanted 4pm; 40% stored in a decanter at room temperature for consumption tonight, the remainder in a decanter in the cellar for tomorrow. Cork extracted whole, and its brand matching the label and the capsule.
D+0. Brick-red mid-translucent red. Looking fine. To taste sweet for a Dow, acidity quite prominent, and somewhat closed. Bodes well but needing time.
