Courtesy of my friend Nilesh who got this for his Fortieth and we've been meaning to drink it since then.

Slight worry as the cork was very short, in extremely good condition but had no writing on it, it came out intact. It seemed to be a very old bottle though, not sure when it was released. Decanted and a fair amount of grit was left behind, going with the old bottling theory.

Colour was proper tawny and it was as clear as a bell. Nose was full of dried fruits, which came out as dried apricots and raisins in the mouth, nice chocolatey finish. Surprisingly went very well with aged Cropwell Bishop, better than with Gruyere and Montgomery Cheddar.

Very enjoyable Port and especially good company with it.
