First we opened:

• Dow 1960;
• Dow 1977;
• Croft 1963;
• Graham 1980;
• Smith Woodhouse Madalena 1988;
• Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo 1997.

We had a stroll, to see the Eiffel tower, during which we bought a 1997 Rozès, then the Frenchman arrived so Derek decided that we needed to open two more 1977s.

• Graham 1977;
• Croft 1977;
• Rozès 1997.

The Frenchman left after about two hours.

G77, soon after decanting. Nose had very noticeable acidity, plenty of sugar but no fruit. Also tasted rather flat. Could this have been a marginally tainted bottle? Certainly not up to the usual standards of G77.
