Double decanted. Showing a good colour, with plenty of red but a light and easily transparent centre. Wonderful spice on the nose, full of sweet mango chutney. Good texture and weight in the mouth. Spicey, and showing a bit of heat but dominated by good, mature fruit flavours. Initially, slightly disappointing level of complexity, but with an extra couple of hours in the glass this disappeared to leave a multitude of flavours. A slight burn on the aftertaste, but then a long and rich red licorice and aniseed finish that goes on for ages. 94/100, drunk 14 October 2009 after 14 hours of double decanting.
