1995 Warre's Quinta da Cavadinha

Post by RonnieRoots »

A very good bottle. Showing the same heat after a short decant time as the other bottles, but this blows off with time. Lovely dense, concentrated nose. Full of plums, chocolate and mint. This is the youngest showing on the palate so far. Fairly tannic and a sensation of crushed grapes, like in very young vintage port. Lots of plums again, some dark cherry and some pepper on the lovely long and warm finish. This port is amazing value.

Some more glasses were had two days after opening and it is still going strong. The heat has indeed blown off and it shows beautiful harmony and balance now.

91 points ”“ there is no hurry whatsoever to open this, as it will still improve in coming years.
