2000 Niepoort Vintage Port

Post by Axel P »

Tasted within the Niepoort Range on Nov 27th with Dirk Niepoort:

The 2000 Niepoort never fails to impress and continued to do so on this evening. Extremly concentrated with a thick, black colour. The nose showes an extremely good complexity with all kinds of fruity notes, but not too accessible right now.

Cherryish palate with an extremely seducive complexity. Good acidity and tannins present.

Long and strong aftertaste.

Will be great in the future.

Nose: closed for this time

Taste: did not impress me this time. This port is in a phase were it should be left in the cellar. You taste that it could be a great port, but it must wait.
