2007 Quinta do Vale Dona Maria

Post by RonnieRoots »

Served blind to us during dinner at Quinta do Passadouro, because it's one of Ronald's favourites of the vintage. Finished off the bottle in the following days.

Lovely nose, packed with flowers and an interesting touch of flint. It doesn't give much at first, but starts to shine from day 2 on. Very compact, with a beatiful balance between the lovely, fresh fruit and the ripe tannins. Complex and complete. Great flavours of ripe cherries, licorice and dark chocolate. A fresh, and peppery finish. The way it builds on the palate is magnificent. A great recommendation, very well done.
