The last year this was bottled under the flag (and supervision) of Niepoort. Drank over the course of several days.
Day 1: Fresh on the nose, and a tad alcoholic. Medium bodied, very well balanced and compact. The fruit is still very young and dark. At this point it lacks a bit of length on the finish, but it could be somewhat closed. A primary port still, that is surprisingly young (earlier Passadouro's seemed to age faster) and fun to drink at this point in its life.
Day 2: Keeping up in great style. A bit more round and full than on day 1. Some half-dried plums and cherries, and a pleasant warm finish. It may not be the most complex port on the market, but it shows plenty of youth and is a joy to drink. A nice surprise.
