This was a clear, medium red colour. It was decanted at +24 hours but rebottled and corked. The cork was only removed at 7pm on the day of drinking. It was initially very smooth and drinkable, with hints of cherries. What was strange was the it became more bland over the course of a couple of hours - not unpleasant, just without any character. Or as WS1 expressed something else later, it lacked any horsepower!

Nonetheless, very enjoyable and I will still be serving this at my 40th borthday celebrations later this year without any sense of guilt! (Thank you to Uncle Tom who supplied the bottle)

Ben,

with my my comparison with missing/lacking horsepower I just wanted to emphasize that over time all its power, structure and fruit seem to have gone. This was very enjoyable in the beginning and showed also a very nice structure. Though for 70 it seemed always a bit lean. I fear this was a slightly bad bt which flaws came out with time. :(
