This was the first bottle of vintage port I bought and kept for cellaring. So a bit of a special moment opening this.

Opened after Christmas dinner. The cork came out in two pieces and looked very good.

Nice, dark colour that clearly shows a bit of age. Immediately filling the room with lovely aromas straight after decanting. Drank most after +/- 4 hours in the decanter. Ripe nose with sweet strawberries, tobacco, leather and butterscotch. Very soft and ripe to taste, with strawberries, plums and figs. Medium bodied. Very nicely aged, with some tones of molasses and raisins. A nice and spicy finish, with some tannins and a peppery feel. This shows constantly good on day 2. This is perfect to drink now, although it should be able to hold for a couple years extra. Not the most complex of ports, but incredibly enjoyable to drink.

88 points.
