The Tesco special is still going, so thought I'd try this on the basis of the positive notes on this forum.

Young and lively, lots of blackcurrant, very sticky up front. Finish is short but a nice balance of acidity and smooth tannins. Surprisingly sweet (for Dow). Simple, but a nice quaffer, and can't argue with the price.

Sounds about the same except that I got quite a long, dry finish. As is always the case, environments, palates and temperature give differing experiences but this is generally a very nice filtered LBV at a very good price.

Yes it is nice, I'm getting the dryness on the finish, but sticky on the lips. Reminds me a lot of Boots blackcurrant cough syrup from when I was little (which I had a taste for!)
