1975 Kopke Quinta de Sao Luiz vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Kopke. Slight cloudy appearane. Pale red in colour. Floran nose, slightly chocolately and with a touch of white pepper, but very restrained. Sweet entry with a slightly bitter flavour - quince perhaps. Sweet and bland entry, little in the mouth other than jelly beans. Nothing but sweet strawberries in a one-dimensional finish. Not a great wine. 81/100. Drunk 1 Feb 2010.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Very translucent. Tawny, with a hint of red. Nose: raisins. To taste sourness, then astringency, then soft sweetness.
