Bottled 1983. Honey brown colour, very light centre. Colheita nose, full of tangerines. Thick and syrupy texture in the mouth, with a good dose of acidity to balance the sweetness. The mouth is full of fruit, and a lovely nuttiness under the fruit, terrfific mid-palate development. The aftertaste and finish are amazing, huge in size and of enormous length. Great port. 92/100. Drunk 11 Feb 2010.

My POTN. Caramelized orange and pink fruits on the nose. Very good weight/presence on the palate, with walnuts and caramel for days. Great structure, and a lip smackingly good finish. While there is an obvious, though not obtrusive alcohol component throughout, the wine is just too damn tasty to care. Is it at the level of most 'solid' VPs? Well...that to me is an interesting question. I put this guy just a notch below the 1970 Dow had two weeks ago, and would answer a timid 'maybe.'
