Alas I was unable to take a tasting note of this port.

Clear centre, but a well pigmented mature looking wine and lighter than the '66 shown alongside. A dusty nose that opened up as it sat in the glass and was at its best 3-4 hours after the tasting started when it was soft, full of cinnamon and a fabulous fruitcake. Assertive entry, dense and concentrated; still very young but the tannins are nicely subdued by the fruit on the palate. Big and mouthfilling, sweet and very fruity. The aftertaste is sweet, initially hot and very big. One to tuck away with the '66s. My wine of the night. 95/100.

Same colour as the 1966. Dramatic nose with lots of fruit, although some felt too stewed compared to the elegance of the 1966. Excellent in the mouth, still lots of fruit, as one would expect.

1970 Graham’s Vintage Port:
Still a medium ruby I was surprised the 1966 was darker. With its complex nose full of young plums this was also a bottle I enjoyed just smelling. Like the 1966, this was full bodied and had an amazing sensation of building in the mouth as it led into a huge full finish. One of the better showing of this I’ve had recently. 95 Points
