Alas I was unable to take a tasting note of this port.

Quite dark. Perhaps a touch less spirited on the nose compared to the monumental ones from 1985-7. Touch of green stalks perhaps. Sweetness initially followed by a dryish after taste. Very nice and attractive.

Ex-cellars. Deep red, solid centre which is just opaque. A spicy nose, very young and immature. Initially hollow, with some tannins in the wine but these are soft and almost hidden. Rich, dark cherry juice and black chocolate. Full and rich aftertaste, dominated by the dark chocolate and black cherries. Very young, very good and in need of a lot of time in the cellar. 87/100

1988 Graham’s Quinta dos Malvedos Vintage Port

1988 Graham’s Malvedos Vintage Port:
Still retaining a nice dark ruby with a heavily perfumed nose. Lighter in body than the ’86 and ’87 with some spicy pepper and lots of cedar across the palate and into the finish. A nice Port that is drinking well at the moment yet still has probably another 10-15 years before it plateaus. 91 Points
