Ex-cellars. Mid red centre, mature orange on the rim. A lively citrus and clove nose with a hint of dustiness. Very inviting. Sweet, lively and spicey in the mouth; wonderful layering of flavours with a fabulous spiciness and a raisin sweetness. A big burst of heat on swallowing, and then a long chocolate and white cherry length of enormous duration. A wonderful, wonderful wine with a beautiful elegance and balance. I preferred the 1966 to the 1967 tasted blind alongside. 92/100. Drunk 13 Nov 2009.

N66: darker than that later revealed to be the N67, and less nose. Heat: really lots of side-of-tongue-stinging heat. However, more rounded and fatter than its sibling.
