Red in colour, with a pink rim turning slightly orange; light and transparent centre. Dusty nose, sweet redcurrants leaping from the glass. Sweet and fruity first impression on the palate, balanced by a hint of spice and acidity and with fully integrated tannins. Sweet, slightly cheek-drying aftertaste, candied pineapple and with very long length. Absolutely delicious and drinking really well. Drunk 17 April 2010 after 6 hours decanter time. 91/100.

Dark red. Thick mouthfeel, very rich with dark cherry and a good long finish.

This was probably my 2nd favourite wine of the night - after the 1966. I think it is probably somewhere close to being in its prime drinking window. A nice red colour and beautifully clear. The nose hinted at some good fruits and the taste did not disappoint.

W70: glorious red, and 40% translucent. Some red berries in the nose. The taste starting, as usual, with heat. Less fruit than the
W66, with oranges mid-palate.

4 days later: Darker now with a lovely texture. Very good and, for me, showing better than it did on the night.
