Solid red centre, transparent on the rim. Hugely herbaceous nose, some blueberry mixed with sage. Sweet entry, showing sweet damsons; very tannic with quite a grip. Nice development. Empty aftertaste other than some cheek tingling sensation, although some flavours do develop on the finish. Adequate drinking. 83/100. Tasted 19 April 2010.

Was this definitely a VP? I thought Infantado didn’t release LBVs and VPs in the same year and I’ve just been unpacking some of the latter for 2004...

I ordered the 2004 L.B.V. but upon receipt the label says "Vintage 2004" (as with this picture but with 2004 instead of 2007): http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xqO5XifqQu4/T ... e+2007.jpg

Also it was bottled in May 2007, rather than 2009 as in J.G.H.'s L.B.V. tasting note.

Labelling error? Sent the wrong thing?

My guess would be that they sent you the wrong thing.

A 2004 VP could legally be bottled in 2007. A 2004 LBV could not. That plus the label stating "Vintage 2004" is a pretty clear indication that they did in fact send you a Vintage Port and not an LBV.

Oh darn!
