Looking quite young still, only a tiny hint of browning. Some wood and smoke, and red berries. Initial sweetness goes dry with the tannins, and some heat too. Very good and has some years yet to reach its best.

Mature red in colour, showing the red / brown mix of maturity. Similar nose to the Warre 1970 shown alongside, but not as well developed; slightly hot, with All Spice and cherries. Slightly sweet entry, then full of dry cherries. Quite harsh on the sides of the tongue; joy, but with ripe cherry fruit and dry tannins on the tip of the tongue. Some heat on the aftertaste, which fades to leave a good length finish that is full of cherry juice. This wine particularly benefited from sitting in a glass for an extra hour. 89/100. Drunk 6 May 2010 after 8 hours decanting.

Would have bet the ranch this was a Warre. Seemed to share a lot in common w/ the 1970, but a bit younger, a tad more simplistic and a touch more alcohol. Still, very very good -- with a plush and round character that was quite attractive. More delicious than the 35 T, but much less interesting/original. Still, a wine to seek out in 10-15 years. 90+
