1970 Sandeman
1970 Sandeman
An election night bottle - 6th May 2010. Decanted early morning. Great dark red colour. Slightly spirity on the nose. A slightly smokey taste, but not in an unpleasant way. This was also noticeable in the 1966 Sandeman.

Re: 1970 Sandeman
There was a flavour profile that we picked up in the 63/66/70 tasting that Sandeman had. I thought that it was 'musty' that we described it as but another person's nose may describe it in other ways. When we tried the Sandeman's blind, it was spotted immediately. I like Sandeman's but up against the brutes of Graham's, Taylor and Fonseca it faded into the background, a bit like Warre does. I am willing to second the previous suggestion of an 'Elegance' rectangular tasting, including Sandeman's, Warre and Croft.
