Cr60: nose closed, with dark-fruit sweetness. Lots of heat tip of tongue lots. Full sweetness, rich, but the heat too much. Much better structured than the Fonseca, which I attributed to the better acidity.

THIS is port! Spirited, vervre, and decent fruit (from the family of Orange?). Lacks some intensity, but achieves an enjoyable harmony. 90pts, and my WOTN.

Mid red colour, darkest of the flight (which included Fonseca, Taylor, Noval and Noval Nacional). Slightly hot on the nose, with dusty rapsberries showing. Full bodied, but very spicy with the remains of the tannins showing through the redcurrant. Nice layering and worth holding on the palate for some time. Gentle aftertaste, with a quick burst of heat followed by long finish of red licorice and slightly sour cherries. 87/100.

Complex nose with a little spirit. Very smooth - chocolate - very long but quite medicinal and numbing. Later I noted "oranges".
