1977 Fonseca vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Looking in colour to be in the early stages of maturity. Mature nose, open and full of maraschino cherry. Sweet and a little simple in the mouth, with candied fruit but no tannins. Very sweet. Soft and lingering aftertaste, although a little short. A port to drink and enjoy over the next 10 years. 90/100. Drunk 26 May 2010.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
