1985 Martinez vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Mid red colour, showing young maturity. Very restrained nose, with nothing much more than some dusty redcurrants. Sweet, balanced and elegant, showing early maturity. Quite dry but with good levels of fruit. Dry finish, with plenty of fruit and a very good length of very good volume. A nice wine - one to try again in 5 years time. 87/100. Drunk 26 May 2010 after 24 hours decanting.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
