I have been reading for a while and so when I couldn’t find a tasting note on this port I thought I would oblige.

+0 Garnet hue with a pale rim. A gentle spirituous nose with brown spice and cacao. Cacao strengthens on the palate and it is quite prickly with alcohol. No finish.

+1 Spicy plums emerge on the bouquet. Orange is registering now alongside the cacao on the slightly less prickly palate. Starting to lengthen. Promising now. I really should have opened this earlier.

+4 As far as I got before the decanter was empty. Quite smooth now. The tannin is present but fine and intergrated on the palate. The plums are now on the palate as well but still cacao is dominant with jaffa and spice topnotes. A moderate finish now. A Very Good wine and I feel it can improve in the near term.

cheers

Carl
