1994 Niepoort Colheita (b. 2005)
I've had numerous bottles of this and it remains my favorite young Colheita. I opened this yesterday at the end of a wine dinner for a few who wanted to try it. As I finish the remains tonight, I now realize my original assesment last night was correct. This is an off-bottle. This bottle had too much alcohol showing, even when chilled down, and 24 hours later this is still the case. Not a normal thing for this particular Colheita. It was also a bit simple, which is not normal either. The finish was still long and spicy, but just not up to par compared to other bottles of this. A shame as this is normally a very nice young colheita. N/R
