Closed for business. Nothing to report. Sound of fingers drumming on table.

Was this a Fonseca Guimaraens bottle?

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty certain this was an Axel bottle and I didn't see it opened. It could be Panascal, Axel?

Alex,

It was from my cellar and it was the Guimaraens!
And I am quite sure you saw it opened, because you were there when we opened it in the afternoon! But you are excused because of the heat :)

Santé,
Joost

Ah, in which case, I may even have opened it - it was hot, wasn't it?

Flight no.9, served alongside Fonseca 2003.

Sweet dark cherry on the nose, maybe not as fresh as the 03, but still lovely. I found this to be very open and enjoyable. Mouthcoating dark fruit, dense but fine tannins, mocha and dark chocolate on the finish. Seductive and lovely. Definitely not as big as the 03, and may not last as long but very fine indeed. 92 points.

Comparing my notes of the 03 and 05, and:
1. Knowing for sure that I had my glasses in the right place;
2. Knowing the state of KillerB at this point in the tasting,
I wonder if he might have got his glasses mixed up during this flight....
