1991 Morgan vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red in colour, just transparent in the centre. A confused noseof coffee and sour cherries. Mid-weight impact with generous levels of fruit, soft and dry tannins and a hidden but strong acidity. The fruit dominates the palate. A fierce heat burns on swallowing, but this is followed by a delicious sweet blackcurrant and black chocolate finish of good length. Very enjoyable, reliable old favourite. 88/100. Drunk after 2 hours decanting on 7 September 2010.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
