This will be the first Cockburn to cross my lips since
its purchase by the Symingtons.

C55: orange-red. Nose very very stewed; CMAG concurring: ‟stewed fruit”. But lovely early palate. I thought ‟Christmas cake”; others suggesting ‟Christmas pudding”. Then very rich and very long. DRT rightly said ‟minty finish”. Great port.
In the first flight competition (
Ad,
BPFHB, C,
D,
Fr,
F,
GB, and
G) scoring 7 points, as it was voted second best by AHB and DRT; and third best by JDAW and others.

Not much on the nose. Christmas pudding flavours with a very nice minty tingle on the end of a long finish. I really liked this and (I think) voted it as my second favourite of the evening.

Dark organge in colour, little pigmentation, perhaps 30% opaque. Marmalade - that sweet and bitter intense orange - showing on the nose. Rather light entry, but nice development on the palate, full of rich and buttery orange. Deep aftertaste and a very big finish with full bitter-sweet orange flavours. Enormous aftertaste. Wonderful port, really spot on. 92/100.

Amazed how much the other side of the table liked this wine...
Is this the most bland and unremarkable bottle of VP I have ever tasted? I was actually feeling myself forgetting what it tasted like as I was still drinking it. Totally bland and muted, actually almost corked feeling in its lack of distinctive flavor profile. This wine has a level of reserve and general ambivalence that even the British would decry! 80 points

Color: Middling, not particularly dark
Nose: Alcohol and dry red fruits.
Palate: Dryish, really not my style. Seems like it's trying to be hot.
Finish: nothing of note
Score: 86 points. Others rated the Cockburn higher, but I just didn't see it.
