Bottled by Berry Brothers. Deep red, deepest colour of the Fonseca wines on this night. Slightly flat on the nose, with a slight hint of TCA, perhaps a bit harsh. Rich mouthfeel, with distinct tannins, full and rich flavours but with a hint of TCA and cardboard. A little harsh on the aftertaste, but a big finish of bitter cherries and huge length. Disappointing for such a great wine. This fell apart with more time in the glass and became dominated by the TCA. 90/100. Drunk 26 September 2010.

F66, the darkest wine on the table. Dark red, 70% opacity. Lovely nose: plums, ‟lots of richness”, ‟cedar/leather. With a hint of acridity, or bottle stink. To taste there’s something wrong early palate, identified as VA rather than bottle stink. A shame.

Unranked by me; but one second and three thirds gave it third overall.
