Ex-cellars from VNdG but stored for a summer in the cellars at Vesuvio. Deep red, dark and opaque. A floral nose, clean and attractive, full of fruit. Strongly acidic entry. Gentle tannins and lots of spice. The fruit is dominant, mostly primary but with a bit of secondary softness. A lovely aftertaste, rich and magnificent Christmas cake. Long, spicy violets and blueberries and a cheek tingling dry finish. Very tasty port. 92/100. Drunk 26 September 2010.

I think this is the bottle that was served blind after dinner. My guess was "Vesuvio 1994 that has spent the summer in the Douro" - which was 100% correct.

With the shipper, vintage and provenance all correct, this is and will always be the jewel in my "guess-the-blind-wine" crown
