Particularly sad as this bottle was 100cl, 33⅓% more than the usual ¾l.
I hope that the Christmas bottle was on form.

Working from memory only this absolutely did perform well and was a unanimous WOTN.

Colour was a Light Brown with an almost violet coloured meniscus. Entry was sweet and very smooth followed by a really powerful spice and citrus middle which simply melted to a very long lasting finish leaving you simply wanting more...so I did

Fabulous juice...thankyou Dirk.

1 litre bottle, ex-cellars and brought by Dirk Niepoort.

Mid-red colour, orange on the rim. Restrained nose, opening in the glass and showing fresh flowers and fresh cut fruit. Amazing palate impact, big presence and with masses of fruit - still tannic and with lovely balancing acidity. Big, sweet aftertaste, but with a dry cocoa powder essence. Fantastic port. 97/100.
