2008 Quinta Senhora da Ribeira

Post by DRT »

Tasted at the New Douro Tasting, Tate Modern, London, 26 October 2010.

A strange, metalic, tanky nose. Raspberry flavours with lots of acidity and a sweet sugary finish.

This is the second time I have tasted this port (and the only vintage of Quinta Senhora da Ribeira that I have tasted) and I just can't get along with it. Others at the tasting took away a much better impression than I did and I am left feeling quite confused. Is it possible that there is a place in the Douro that makes port that I don't enjoy? - I'm willing to give it another chance as the prospect of that being true is too horrible to imagine.
