1995 Burmester VP

Post by StevieCage »

Wow, this is DARK! Still almost purple. Polite on the nose, with blackberry and mocca (suprisingly). Medium bodied with loads of black cherry, but not much more. Tannins are still there, and will need additional time to soften. Smooth finish, warm going down but never hot.

A lovely VP! Could do with a bit more complexity perhaps, but it is darn tasty: 89 points, with room for improvement. Glad I have more!

Opened another one this Christmas: not much to add to the previous TN. Some secondary flavours are coming; it seemed a bit more earthy than my previous tasting of this VP, but still young. 89 points seem to be about right for now.
