Served by the glass at The Crusting Pipe. Deep red, opaque. Very subdued on the nose, showing just a tiny hint of stewed blackcurrants and alcohol. Soft entry, dry but fruity. Lots of - too much - acidity creating a harshness on the palate. The tannisn are quietand chalky, the fruit lacking and the palate presence light. RLC observed "damsons and raisins" and was spot on. Hot peppery aftertaste followed by a long finish of blackcurrant skins. An excellent length. Not a port I will be seeking out to purchase, but could be in a sulky phase. 84/100. Drunk 10 Jan 2011.
