1955 Taylor vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Very pale, butterscotch in colour. Nosing of butterscotch Angel Delight. Empty palate impact, nothing but bland syrup. Hollow. Strange, buttery aftertaste - not pleasant, but not unpleasant - but this is swamped by the rosemary normally encountered in a very old port. Not representative and not rated. Drunk 10 Jan 2011.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
