From the LBV Old and New - part 2 tasting:
This was much more like it. Thicker in body due to being the right sort of age. It was one of the unfiltered brigade which is showing that they can at least age with dignity. Slightly dusty but good fruit and well balanced. I liked it but would still prefer proper vintage Port.

Dark red. Tastes of chocolate and raspberry - smooth, but with a little VA and a sticky finish.

I didn't like this port. It tasted cheap and nasty.

Bottled in 2001. Mature red in colour, 80% opaque. Nose is similar to the Taylor and Niepoort LBVs shown alongside this wine (which is not a good thing!) but the wine has a lovely texture on entry. It is clear on the palate that the bottle has suffered from stink and these flavours dominate the early palate. Aeration removes these flavours and allows a soft strawberry candy to come through. The wine has a lovely aftertaste, filling the mouth with milk chocolate and raisin flavours and with a great length. Drinking well enough today - but not a wine I would rush to buy. 84/100.
