Nice, open, flowery nose. Good weight. Lots of red fruit - some heat - lovely long finish.

This was the WOTN by a stretch.

A great revelation, and a fine example of why these informal blind tastings are a good thing 88)

Deep red colour, youthful but not a baby; opaque. Lovely and inviting nose; sweet but with an offsetting mandarin citrus edge. Swirling reveals a lovely floral essence. Young smelling, but past the first flush of youth. Intense and concentrated in the mouth, very spicy but with such sweet fruit. Lovely on the palate. A long aftertaste that promises much for the future and certainly one which will continue to improve for at least another 10 years. Guessed to be Bomfim 1987. 91/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
