Very pale in colour, a deep amber; perhaps only 10% opaque. Fresh and fragrant on the nose - like grass just after a rain shower. Smooth, empty and somewhat hollow entry; lots of sweet, sugary flavours and some woody bitterness. Little growth or development on the palate. Harsh aftertaste before some floral flavours come through on the finish. I considered this to be a weak wine; most others liked it far more than I did. Guessed to be Noval 1978. 78/100.

Very light. Pink in middle. Huge toffee and burnt sugar on nose. Same in mouth. Some acidity. Short after taste. Excellent otherwise.

I find these huge toffee-like aromas one of the most attractive things that can develop in a glass of Port, which probably explains my disagreement with AHB; those that have them (e.g. the Vargellas 1965, Crasto 1970 Colheita and Graham’s 1955) are some of my favourite Ports.

decanted @1p.m.

very tawnified colour, sweet and moreish early/mid palate though does disappear a bit at the finish. Slipped down nicely and gone before i knew it - I could drink a lot of this.
