My clear wine of the night.

This was simply outstanding and one of the best ports I've tasted in my short port drinking time.

dark reddish amber/purple with a touch of brown around the rim.

it started with a celery seed funk, but blew off showing some dusty sweet strawberries/orange marmalade, honey suckle with a slight hint of all spice to keep it lively, lovely and fantastic.

Perfectly balanced on the mouth feel, neither thin nor heavy, with sweet red fruit blended with honey baked figs finishing with a light brown sugar spirit that just goes down so incredibly smooth.

98.

About the same med/dark burgundy as the '66 but with less fade toward the rim. On the nose I got toffee, wood, strawberry syrup and spices. Has exceptional balance on the palate with smooth flavors of red fruit and oranges that fade into a long finish. Really fine stuff but in an understated package. 94 pts
