Tasted September 2004:
Light and bright in colour, clearly showing its age. A polite smell of sweet prunes, wet tobacco and some glue (not off putting though). It tastes fairly light bodied and mature. Very sweet with a slight hot touch. Candied sugar, some dried fruit, hardly any tannins left. In the finish tobacco and leather are dominant, completed by some coffee/mocha. Drinking very nice now, don't keep. 87 points. Better than I expected, since we bought it in an obscure Portuguese shop, where they kept it standing up. No doubt that helped some with early maturing.
