Tasted at The Big Fortified Tasting, a trade fair in London at Glaziers Hall on Wed 06 April 2011 (Review thread, containing links to other tasting notes). This being a large trade-fair event, tasting notes generally brief.

SV99. Soft with strawberry, Reasonable length. Nice drinking. Not much acidity at all.

I tried this but seemed not to have taken a note. Quite mature now for its age, this was pleasant drinking. I think Sandeman Vau was the most successful of the early-maturing Ports that were produced and it is a shame that this is the youngest available.

Just starting to show some maturity in the colour, 90% opaque. Open on the nose, warm and rich and full of fruit that is just starting to mature. Soft and rounded entry, gentle smooth fruit with surprising tannin still in place. The fruit is warm and ripe; the finish is a touch chalky, with big, dry blackcurrant skins. A nice showing. 89/100.
