Tasted at The Big Fortified Tasting, a trade fair in London at Glaziers Hall on Wed 06 April 2011 (Review thread, containing links to other tasting notes). This being a large trade-fair event, tasting notes generally brief.

Quinta do Passadouro 2004 VP
Some cherries on the nose. Quite closed on the palate but more expressive than the 2007, with a certain amount of spiciness. Very nice.

Deep red, opaque and with a solid rim. Fresh applemint on the nose but not much else. Soft texture on the palate, limited fruit and with big tannins that are a little green or stalky in tone. The fruit grows in the mouth but the balance is not quite right. The tannin dominated aftertaste is big and tingling with the finish being the best feature of this wine. Not showing well with the balance being out. 85/100.
