2007 Duorum

Post by JacobH »

Tasted at The Big Fortified Tasting, a trade fair in London at Glaziers Hall on Wed 06 April 2011 (Review thread, containing links to other tasting notes). This being a large trade-fair event, tasting notes generally brief.

Duorum 2007 VP
Very subdued nose. Some very distant spices and blackcurrants. Quite strong, slightly harsh tannins. Somewhat disappointing.

Deep red colour and a magenta rim. Restrained nose, showing a hint of menthol and lots of Turkish Delight. Smooth entry, restrained blueberry then big tannins with a peppery bite - in fact, the tannins are huge! Mouth puckering aftertaste, which does subside to allow a fresh blueberry to emerge from the long finish. A big wine! 91/100.
