2000 Delaforce Vintage Port

Post by RonnieRoots »

Opened because I thought it would be nice for current drinking. And it was. A bit stinky at first (some reduction, almost like bottle stink), but once that blew off, it was an easy drinking, round and soft port. Very developed. Tobacco, prunes, and maybe some faint red fruit. Not overly complex and fairly light bodied. Lacking some freshness. All in all, not a great port, but pleasant enough to drink, and worth to seek out on a bargain (think max. 20 euro). Tasted in comparison to Graham Crusted 2002, Niepoort Crusted 2007 and Passadouro LBV 2004, all of which outclassed the Delaforce. 85 points.
